John W. Danforth Company to Expand in Dublin Following City Council Approval

Dublin City Council has approved an economic development agreement with John W. Danforth Company, a mechanical services provider specializing in mechanical contracting, engineered building systems and energy solutions. The company primarily serves commercial, industrial and institutional clients across the Northeast and parts of the Midwest. John W. Danforth Company currently has a presence on Shier Rings Road and plans to expand operations to a new facility in Dublin.
 
“The decision to open our Ohio office was an important step for us, and we couldn’t be happier with the results,” said Alex Grant, Executive Vice President of Danforth’s Ohio operations. “Our growth in Ohio has been the result of building the right team, the right partnerships and, most important, delivering for our customers. We’re excited to continue our growth in Dublin and look forward to what the future holds.”

As part of the agreement, the City of Dublin will provide a two-year, 15% performance incentive on employee income tax withholdings followed by a five-year, 10% performance incentive for calendar years 2027 through 2033. The incentive is capped at $353,000 for the seven-year term of the agreement. Additionally, the City will provide a $50,000 location grant to support John W. Danforth Company’s relocation and related renovation expenses.

John W. Danforth Company plans to nearly double its workforce in Dublin. Based on the company’s payroll projections, the City is expected to receive approximately $1.9 million in additional income tax withholding revenue over the term of the project.
The location grant and performance incentive are contingent upon John W. Danforth Company providing documentation of an executed lease agreement with a term of at least 10 years and occupying a facility within the City of Dublin.

“John W. Danforth Company has established a strong presence in Dublin, and we’re excited to support its continued growth here,” said Economic Development Administrator Jenna Goehring. “This expansion will retain a substantial workforce, create new jobs and strengthen Dublin’s business community.”

Dublin City Council approved the agreement following a second reading during its Aug. 24, 2026, meeting.
