The author of Gracious Leadership: Lead Like You’ve Never Led Before, Janet has four decades of experience in the highly regulated healthcare and financial services industries. Janet served for nine years as President of Mount Carmel St. Ann’s Hospital where she led the turnaround of a struggling community hospital into an award-winning regional medical center that ranks among the top 5% of hospitals nationally. Through emphasizing a culture of accountability for results within a positive work environment, Janet consistently led highly engaged teams to generate sustained value, profitability and customer satisfaction. Janet has served in Executive roles for four nationally known healthcare systems including the $14+Billion Trinity Health, one of the nation’s largest faith-based, non-profit healthcare systems and the prestigious $5+ Billion Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Before entering the healthcare sector, she worked in the financial services industry for Bank of Mississippi (now BancorpSouth, Inc. - BXS on NYSE).
Janet is an experienced Corporate Director who is actively seeking to serve on the Boards of publicly-traded and/or significant privately-held companies. She is currently serving on the Board of Directors and Executive Committee of National Church Residences (NCR). NCR is the nation’s largest non-profit provider of affordable senior housing and is a national leader in the provision of senior support services. At NCR Janet serves on the Governance/Nominating/Legal and HR/Executive Compensation Committees and is a member of the NCR Investment Corporation Board of Directors.
Janet serves on the Advisory Board of PriorAuthNow, a privately-held technology company experiencing dramatic growth through its innovative approach to solving one of healthcare’s most significant challenges. Janet recently served on the Advisory Board of Thirty-One Gifts, LLC, a $700M privately-held retailer operating in the United States and Canada. She served on the Board of Directors and Executive Committee of United Way of Central Ohio. She also served on the National Board of Directors of the American Hospital Association’s Society for Healthcare Planning and Marketing. Janet’s C-Suite talents are frequently utilized in governance matters related to Strategy Development/Execution and Human Resource strategies including Executive Compensation, Leadership Development and Human Capital Alignment. In all of her Board endeavors, Janet demonstrates a keen appreciation for the importance of positive relationships. She leads with grace, and she asks tough questions with kind candor to help guide Management to the right strategies and decisions.
As CEO of Healthcare Alignment Advisors, Janet guides C-Suite Executives regarding strategies that optimize corporate performance within a positive work environment. Janet is a Cum Laude graduate of the University of Mississippi (UM) in Banking and Finance where she played Division 1 Basketball. She was inducted into Phi Kappa Phi and received the Wall Street Journal Award for academic excellence in Finance. Janet earned an MBA in Finance from UM. She is an avid jogger and cycler, and she enjoys international travel.
