Hats for Homeless Service Project
Dublin Women’s Philanthropic Club (DWPC) invites members of the community to attend a service project event on Wednesday, Jan. 18, 2017 from 6:00 to 8:30 p.m. at Knitting Temptations needle arts store, 35 S. High Street in Dublin. The evening features knitting instruction and fiber art creation of hats for The Salvation Army of Central Ohio. Hats will be delivered with meals to individuals and families who are homeless or in need. Registration is $15, which includes instruction, materials and light refreshments. No previous knitting experience is necessary, but space is limited and RSVPs are required. The event is open to both DWPC members and non-members. Registrations will be taken online at http://dublinwomensclub.com/. The Salvation Army, founded in 1865, is an international organization that confronts poverty in all its forms, empowering the vulnerable to find dignity and hope through changed lives. Salvation Army facilities are located throughout the United States and in 124 countries worldwide. DWPC is a nonprofit organization of nearly 100 dedicated women, founded in 1978 and devoted to philanthropic educational access and families in need.
