Veo Scooters and Bikes Officially Launch in Dublin
May 01, 2025Veo Scooters and Bikes Officially Launch in Dublin
(Dublin, Ohio) — The City of Dublin is excited to announce that Veo electric mobility rides are now available throughout the community. Beginning April 30, 2025, residents and visitors will see Veo electric scooters, e-bikes and pedal bikes conveniently located in designated areas, providing eco-friendly, accessible and efficient transportation options.
Veo’s fleet in Dublin is designed to support a variety of rider preferences, trip types and mobility needs. A seated vehicle option will offer added comfort for longer rides or those who benefit from additional stability. The fleet will include:- Astro standing scooter
- Cosmo seated scooter
- Halo pedal-assist e-bike
- Halo pedal bike
- Apollo 2-seated class 2 e-bike
The City of Dublin is working to refine geofencing restrictions to support full deployment and ensure safe, organized operation across key areas. All Veo scooters and bikes are equipped with geofencing that regulates speed and access within the city. Designated “No Ride Zones” include areas such as parking garages and streets with speed limits over 25 miles per hour; in these zones, the device’s accelerator is automatically disabled, and the rider is notified. Designated “Slow Zones” have speed restrictions of 10 miles per hour to enhance safety in high-traffic or pedestrian-heavy areas, such as The Dublin Link. Designated parking areas are visible within the Veo app and all users are required to end their trips at public bike racks, bike corrals or other approved locations such as pocket parks at Bridge Park.
Veo scooters are now available for riders 18 and older via the Veo mobile app, which allows users to locate, unlock and ride scooters and bikes safely and responsibly. To promote proper parking, the app requires riders to submit a photo of the parked vehicle at the end of each trip, reducing sidewalk clutter and improving safety for pedestrians and fellow riders.
By introducing a wider variety of micromobility options, Dublin is enhancing its transportation ecosystem by including a bike share program alongside both standing and seated scooters. Additionally, Veo is sharing revenue with the City of Dublin, eliminating the need for public subsidies. The City plans to reinvest these funds into infrastructure that supports bicycles, scooters and other micro-mobility options.
“Veo’s micro-mobility program not only offers an attractive alternative to driving, helping reduce emissions and traffic congestion, but also prioritizes safety through features like geofencing, speed limits and designated parking areas, proving a reliable and accessible option for getting around Dublin,” says Jeannie Willis, City of Dublin Director of Transportation & Mobility. How Dublin E-Scoots:
