Dublin Women’s Philanthropic Club (DWPC) invites members of the community to participate in their Sept. 13 “Paddle with a Purpose” kayak outing to benefit Northwest Special Olympics. The 2.5-mile river excursion, operated by Olentangy Paddle, departs from Dublin’s Amberleigh Park, 4800 Carrigan Ridge Ct. at 6 p.m. and concludes with pressed juice cocktails provided by Vitality Smoothie and Juice at Dublin Spring Park, 20 S. Riverview, Dublin, Ohio. Registration is $30 and participants are encouraged to seek additional pledges from friends, relatives and associates. Northwest Special Olympics, founded in 1987, provides year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities. Paddle with a Purpose participants do not need to be DWPC members to attend, but advance registration is required via https://raceroster.com/events/2016/9800/dwpc-paddle-with-a-purpose. Prior kayaking experience is not necessary. Please email DWPC Vice President Rachel Dean-Haas with additional questions via dublinwomensclub@gmail.com or call Dean-Haas at 614.506.5538. DWPC is a nonprofit organization of nearly 100 dedicated women, founded in 1978 and devoted to philanthropic educational access and families in need.
