Tolles Students Earn Gold Medals, Advance to SkillsUSA National Competition
State championship victories highlight growing impact of hands-on workforce training at Tolles
PLAIN CITY, OHIO —Tolles Career & Technical Center students earned top honors at the 2026 SkillsUSA Ohio State Championships, with three students capturing gold medals and qualifying to compete at the national level this summer in Atlanta.
Among the state champions were two students from Tolles’ Cybersecurity program and one student from Firefighting & EMS, highlighting the strength of career-technical education pathways preparing students for Ohio’s most in-demand industries.
Christian Evans, a Level Two Cybersecurity student from Jonathan Alder High School, and Konrad Reidman, a Level One Cybersecurity student from Fairbanks High School, earned gold medals in Cybersecurity after achieving a perfect score in state competition.
Rutger Honer, a Level Two Firefighting student from Hilliard Davidson High School, also earned a gold medal in Firefighting and will advance to the national competition.
“These students demonstrated an incredible level of technical skill, professionalism, and dedication,” said Dr. Todd F. Hoadley, CEO/Superintendent of Tolles Career & Technical Center. “Their success reflects not only their hard work, but also the strength of the hands-on learning environments and industry-focused opportunities available to students at Tolles.”
The Cybersecurity program’s success reflects significant investments in Tolles’ cybersecurity training lab, made possible through state support aimed at expanding access to modern workforce education and technology training.
“Our students are learning in spaces designed to mirror real-world industry environments,” Hoadley said. “Opportunities like these help prepare students to meet the growing workforce needs across Ohio while giving them valuable, career-ready experience before graduation.”
Tolles serves students from Dublin City Schools, Fairbanks High School, Hilliard City Schools, Jonathan Alder High School, London High School, Madison-Plains High School, and West Jefferson High School.
The following Tolles students earned gold medals at the 2026 SkillsUSA Ohio State Championships and will advance to nationals:

The students will now represent Ohio at the 2026 SkillsUSA National Leadership & Skills Conference in Atlanta this June.
“We are proud of the way these students represented Tolles, their associate school districts, and career-technical education across Ohio,” Hoadley said. “Their accomplishments are a reflection of what happens when students are given access to high-quality training, industry partnerships, and opportunities to apply their skills in meaningful ways.”
