“If we can get one child adopted into a loving family, all our work will be worth it.”

    – Dave Thomas

Join us as we champion our mission to dramatically increase the number of adoptions of children waiting in North America’s foster care systems. We’ve helped more than 15,000 young people find safe, permanent homes across the United States and Canada, but our mission is not complete. Invest your career in making a difference and join the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption team.

We offer a supportive workplace where you can make an impact. We are dedicated to creating a diverse, inclusive and equitable work environment for Foundation staff, while advocating for measurable change toward racial equity within the child welfare system.

We are looking for a talented and creative communicator to advance our mission as the next Child Welfare Marketing Senior Associate located in Dublin, Ohio. Under the guidance of the marketing and communication director, the child welfare senior associate supports our strategic goals through collaboration with internal and external partners to inform and engage audiences within the child welfare community. If you are a strategic writer who understands how to draft compelling messaging and materials for stakeholders across the foster care and adoption community, we encourage you to learn more about the role and apply.

    Key Deliverables:

    1. Support implementation of a marketing and communications plan designed to enhance reach, awareness and support among child welfare professionals for the importance of finding a permanent family for ALL children lingering in foster care and the belief that every child is adoptable

    2. Implement tactics to grow our community of child welfare professionals, including promotion and planning of national and state-level webinars, marketing opportunities through sponsorships, national and state partnerships and paid ad campaigns

    3. Manage requests from internal departments to review communications and presentations that support the Foundation’s Wendy’s Wonderful Kids® program as well as national grant projects that advance our mission

    4. Create event marketing and communications assets that engage child welfare professionals, speakers and sponsors attending the annual Wendy’s Wonderful Kids Summit in collaboration with internal departments

    5. Inform the Foundation's child welfare content strategy (including topics and calendar cadence) that highlights child welfare best practices and recognizes the importance of the Foundation’s evidence-based, child-focused recruitment model; oversee production and creation of new videos featuring child welfare professionals to be shared through various channels

    6. Write, edit and proofread content in alignment with the Foundation’s brand standards and AP style

    7. Perform other duties, as requested

    8. Assume responsibility for professional growth and development, keeping current with child welfare policies as well as marketing trends and techniques

    • Proactive, adaptable and able to excel in a fast-paced, collaborative environment; ability to manage multiple projects, apply judgement and leverage resources to navigate ambiguity while partnering with multidisciplinary teams to achieve results
