Violence against women is an epidemic and we will explore this issue with guest speaker Melisa Minier\, Forensic Manager of Mount Carmel Forensics.\n\nDon't miss this opportunity to learn how we can all make a difference in combating this crisis.\n\n \n\nAbout Our Speaker:\n\nMelisa Minier has dedicated fifteen years to advocating for victims of crime at Mount Carmel\, where she created Ohio's first full-time\, full-scope forensic program. This program addresses victims' needs from acute care to survivorship\, removing barriers to recovery. Her dedication to improving outcomes for victims of violence is evident in her continuous efforts to provide education and foster collaboration across the medical and legal communities.\n\n\n\nIn addition to her work at Mount Carmel\, Melisa serves on various boards and committees\, influencing policy and protocol to support victims statewide. She has been recognized as the Forensic Nurse of the Year (2023) and the Sexual Assault Response Network of Central Ohio's Community Partner of the Year (2024). Melisa has also addressed the Ohio House of Representatives and Senate\, advocating for legislation to protect victims of violence.
