Her works are usually rural landscapes of the US and Europe. During the past 15 years Mary Jane's paintings have been accepted in 60 juried exhibitions and have won over 35 awards. She has also exhibited in over 11 national and international solo shows. Mary Jane's artwork has been published several times in national magazines and books. Three of her paintings were published in the book "Best of Pastel Painters". Mary Jane is a juried member of the Pastel Society of America and a juried member of the Degas Pastel Society. Recently an article was published regarding Mary Jane Erard's art where Dick Bories from Bories & Shearon\, a very prestigious design firm from NYC\, discusses the use of Mary Jane's paintings in a New York City loft that was designed by Mr. Bories. Artist Website: www.artbymjerard.com\n\n\n\nRoberta Kayne\n\nRoberta Kayne has been taking photos for over 30 years as "a form of therapy and a way to heal the past and focus on the present." When she is focusing on taking pictures\, the world outside and all the hustle bustle of work and other stressors all fade away\, and the only thing that exists is the subject of her photo. She explains that her photographs are reflections of what she sees and how she sees the world\, as well as expressions of the feelings in her heart and soul. Many of Roberta's photographs are from travels around the world\, and some are from right here in Dublin and Ohio. Photos vary from macro close ups looking at tiny insects and flowers\, to impressionistic views of subjects\, to wide angle views of landscapes. Artist Website: www.kaynephotography.com\n\n\n\n\n\nJuly 11th\, 2015:\n\nTheresa Sharp\n\nTheresa Sharp's intrigue for glass began as an undergraduate at the Tyler School of Art in Philadelphia in 1988. Theresa began her glass career in 1992 at Carriage House Glass at Oglebay Park in Wheeling WV. She was a visiting artist at Salisbury (MD) State University's sculpture department in 2000 and joined the Pittsburgh Glass Center as a glassblowing and flameworking instructor in 2002. Currently\, Theresa resides in Lancaster OH\, where she performs glassblowing demonstrations and teaches classes at the Ohio Glass Museum (Lancaster\, OH). Theresa is the torchworking area coordinator at Glass Axis (Columbus\, OH). Theresa also is a professor at Hocking College (Nelsonville\, OH) and head of their flameworking department. When she isn't teaching classes\, you'll often find her doing glassblowing and flameworking demonstrations at festivals\, gallery hops and also private functions from New York to New Orleans. Theresa's glass art can be found on her website and other galleries in Pittsburgh\, Columbus\, and Lancaster OH. Her focus is night photography. When the sun leaves the sky\, Darlene Yeager-Torre gathers flashlights\, camera and tripod and ventures into the night to create luminous landscape photographs by using extremely long exposures. The flashlights and strobes of various strengths and colors are her "paint brushes" and darkness is the canvas. The resulting images take on a radiant quality. Alternately\, she can be found working in her home studio creating unique still life compositions or experimenting with and developing new painting with light techniques. In addition to solo exhibits\, her work has been juried into numerous regional\, national\, and international exhibits. Her night photograph\, Tranquil Evening\, graced the cover of "Conifer Quarterly" for the Summer 2013 issue. Despite the difficulty of low light and night photography\, the resulting images energize her and fuel her creative spirit. All of his pieces are hand blown from liquid glass taken from a 2\,000-degree furnace. Each piece is created by adding color and shaped by blowing through the steel pipe to gently move the piece toward the desired shape. For Jim the process is the most intriguing part of working with hot glass. The challenge is to combine brilliant colors and shapes to draw the viewer's attention to the finished piece that will add a splash of excitement to the space it occupies. Mr. Hoza's style and choice of subject matter has been described by Cultural Arts Commissioner Marie Wiggins as tied to the tradition of great American Regionalist painters. Mr. Hoza's paintings have been exhibited at numerous galleries in the Columbus and Alexandria areas. Mr. Hoza has also been featured in an exhibit at the Dublin Arts Council\, Dublin\, Ohio in 2012. He also co-produced with William Hoza a site specific sculpture at the Wexner Center\, Columbus\, Ohio. Mr. Hoza's paintings are in private and corporate collections. His work has also been selected for exhibition at the Ohio State Fair\, the Ohio Art League\, Upper Arlington Concourse Gallery\, and the Bryn Du Mansion. One of his paintings from an Ohio Art League show at the Columbus Museum of Art was featured in the Columbus Dispatch and the This Week Community News. Mr. Hoza was born in Youngstown\, Ohio and has an undergraduate degree from Youngstown State University and a graduate degree from The Ohio State University. She received a B.F.A. in Painting and Drawing from The Ohio State University in 2006\, and a M.A. in Art Education in 2013. Rachelle founded and operates a nonprofit organization\, called Urban Reflections Art Studio and Gallery\, whose purpose is to provide high-quality art educational experiences to children and families living in underserved neighborhoods around Columbus. She also teaches art to middle school students online\, and at a local public charter school. Recently\, Rachelle was a participant in the Emerging Artist Program at the 2014 Columbus Arts Festival. She creates acrylic paintings of high contrast scenes from around the city of Columbus. She starts with a dark background then adds layers of lighter colors to achieve her vision. Her motivation is finding beauty in the places that are often overlooked. Her artwork is a mixture of abstraction and photorealism.
