SUMMARY:HR Executive Council Meeting
DESCRIPTION:The Human Resources Executive Council is comprised of HR executives in our community who come together every other month during lunch to network and discuss the most urgent HR needs and issues in the community. Meetings are held from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and lunch is provided to all attendees.\n\n\n\nAt this meeting\, Marie-Joelle Khouzam\, a partner at Bricker & Eckler\, will discuss Sexual Harassment\, Assault and Misconduct in the Workplace.  Attendees will learn about:\n\n\n	What the law views as sexual harassment\n	Other forms of harassment\n	How to prevent harassment in your workplace\n	Best practices for dealing with complaints of workplace misconduct\n	Understand the role of insurance in dealing with harassment claims\n\n\n\n\nAbout the speaker:\n\nAs a partner in Bricker & Eckler's Employment & Labor practice\, Marie-Jo lle C. Khouzam is part of clients' trusted advisor teams\, making sure they understand their legal responsibilities and the risks of non-compliance.  She counsels and defends management on discrimination\, harassment\, intentional torts\, breach of contract\, non-compete/ restraint of trade\, and other issues affecting the employment relationship.  Her work includes advising on day-to-day issues\, developing policies\, and defending clients before state and federal agencies and courts. Beyond just making sure clients follow the letter of the law\, Jo lle helps them be employers of choice.    \n\n\n\nJo lle also conducts in-house training on various issues\, and is a frequent author and speaker on developing employment-law topics.  Over the past few years\, she has testified before the state legislature's Medical Marijuana Task Force on the employment issues surrounding the new marijuana law\, and has advised numerous employers on how to prepare for the implementation of this law.\n\n\n\nJo lle has served on the Steering Committee of the Ohio Management Lawyers Association and is past president of the Ohio Municipal Attorneys Association.  She is listed in the International Who's Who of Management Labour & Employment Lawyers\; is consistently awarded the top peer rating of AV-Preeminent by Martindale-Hubbell\, and is on its Bar Register of Preeminent Women\; has been included in Ohio Super Lawyers' Corporate Counsel\, Employment Law list\, Top 25 Women Lawyers in Columbus\, Top 50 Columbus SuperLawyers\, and Top 50 Women Lawyers in Ohio\; and is also named in Best Lawyers in America.
