Dublin Ohio Taxes

Dublin Area Taxes

Sales Tax
A 6.75 percent sales tax is imposed on taxable purchases in Franklin, Delaware and Union Counties. For more information, contact the city of Dublin division of taxation at 614-410-4460.

Hotel/Motel Tax
A 6 percent tax is imposed on hotel/motel rooms in Dublin. This revenue is invested back into the community for beautification projects, special events and cultural activities. The Dublin Convention and Visitors Bureau and Dublin Arts Council each receive a percentage of the annual revenues from the hotel/motel tax.

Income Tax
All residents over 18 years of age must file a tax return each year with the city of Dublin. The Dublin income tax is due by April 15. Contact the city of Dublin division of taxation at 614-410-4460 for more information.

The local income tax is 2 percent and applies to gross wages, salaries and other personal service compensation, and net profits of Dublin businesses. The revenue generated from income tax funds the majority of city-provided services and capital improvement projects.

Property Tax
The city receives approximately 3 percent of the property tax.  The counties collect property taxes on behalf of the city and periodically remit payments to the city. Property taxes vary by district. There are seven taxing districts within the city of Dublin, based upon the county and school district location of the property. Each taxing district has a different full and effective tax rate that is used in calculating the taxes.

The assessed valuation is about 35 percent of the appraised market value of the property. The county treasurer collects property taxes on behalf of the city. The county auditor remits the city its portion of the taxes collected, which is $1.94 for residential property per $1,000 of assessed valuation and $2.07 for commercial property per $1,000 of assessed valuation.
